Chief Dave Murack
David Murack proudly serves as the Fire Chief for the City of Two Rivers Fire Department, having been formally promoted from Assistant Chief of Emergency Medical Services and Community Outreach on June 5, 2023. Chief Murack has dedicated his career to public service and the continuous advancement of Fire and Emergency Medical Services through education, innovation, and servant leadership.
Chief Murack began his career with the Two Rivers Fire Department in November 1999 as a Firefighter/Paramedic. Over the years, he has held a variety of operational, instructional, and leadership roles, including EMS Instructor, Critical Care Paramedic, Community Outreach Paramedic, EMS Preceptor, Fire Inspector, Fire Investigator, Shift Lieutenant, and Peer Support Officer. He has also served as a Motor Pump/Aerial Operator, PFFW Honor Guard Member, and was appointed Interim Fire Chief in December 2022 before his official promotion.
Prior to his service with TRFD, Chief Murack held operational, training, and supervisory positions in both large metropolitan and rural Fire/EMS systems, contributing to a broad understanding of emergency services across diverse settings.
A lifelong learner, Chief Murack has also completed extensive coursework in psychology in the Techincal College System and at the University of Wisconsin–Green Bay, contributing to his leadership style and deep understanding of the human elements of emergency response. He is also a long-time Technical College EMS Instructor, with over 30 years of progressive experience, education, and responsibility in the fields of Fire, EMS, and Community Outreach.
Chief Murack is a passionate advocate for firefighter wellness, emphasizing both mental and physical health and fitness as key pillars of professional readiness and resilience at TRFD. He has been instrumental in the development and advancement of several key programs, including Critical Care Paramedic, Community Outreach Paramedic, Tactical EMS (TEMS), paid intern programs, and enhanced Fire/EMS educational initiatives.
Known for his value-driven leadership, Chief Murack is committed to fostering a department culture rooted in professionalism, compassion, empathy, and humility. He remains dedicated to serving the residents of Two Rivers with integrity and to supporting the well-being and growth of the Firefighter/Paramedics he proudly leads.
Outside of his professional responsibilities, Chief Murack enjoys spending time with his wife and three children. He is actively involved in Two Rivers youth sports programs, local service groups, and various fitness endeavors, reflecting his commitment to both family and community.
