Major projects cited by Kordell in his current position include collaboration on a new village comprehensive plan; development of the village’s eco-sustainability initiatives and 20-year capital improvement plan; downtown marketing and lease management for village-owned properties ; and creation and implementation of Lake Zurich’s 409-acre industrial TIF District with multiple industrial redevelopment projects.

He has had notable accomplishments in a variety of resident engagement activities, including development of an e-newsletter with impressive reach into the community.  He also provided staff support for village board-initiated referenda for home rule authority and new revenue streams to support local infrastructure investment.

In announcing Kyle Kordell’s appointment, Two Rivers City Council President Scott Stechmesser offered the following statement on behalf of the City Council:

“We are looking forward to welcoming Kyle to our community, and the City Council is excited to collaborate with him. We believe his expertise will be invaluable in moving our city forward and building a better future for all the citizens of Two Rivers.”

Addressing the opportunities that lie ahead for Two Rivers, Kordell stated:

“I’m honored to serve as the next City Manager of Two Rivers. This community is built on a foundation of hard-working people and resilience—and I believe Two Rivers’ greatest moments are in front of it. This City doesn’t need to be big; it just needs to be the best version of itself it can be. I’m committed to ensuring transparent communications and listening to diverse perspectives as we shape the future of Two Rivers together.”
