Harmony Lives On the Schmitt Bros. Stage

Saturday, July 19, 2025 - 6:00pm to 7:30pm

Four young and happy suited men in a picture from the '40s.

It was in this park that Two Rivers welcomed home The Schmitt Brothers quartet after the group won a national singing competition 74 years ago.

Today the park contains the Schmitt Brothers Stage—the first and only stage in the country dedicated to a barbershop quartet.

This free concert on that stage features barbershop quartets from around the state, including Barber Pops, Lake Effect, Quandary, Juke Box, Late Expectations and the District Champion Coulee Classic as well as the Clipper City Chordsmen chorus.

The Two Rivers Historical Society's Washington House Museum (1622 Jefferson Street) is serving commemorative Schmitt Brothers sundaes from noon until 6 p.m. During the concert, purchase burgers, brats, hot dogs and beverages from Grow it Forward. The Cool City Brewing Company (next to the park at 1718 West Park Street) has the Schmitt Brothers Barbershop Brew on tap all weekend and is making a financial donation based on the number of pints sold.
