Wisconsin Shipwreck Coast

Wisconsin Shipwreck Coast website banner

Some of Lake Michigan’s most famous shipwrecks lie beneath the waters off Two Rivers and Rawley Point.

These wrecks–and potential others–are included in the newly-designated 962-square-mile Wisconsin Shipwreck Coast National Marine Sanctuary.  The sanctuary protects 36 shipwrecks that possess exceptional historic, archeological, and recreational value. Historical research suggests that nearly 60 shipwrecks are yet to be discovered.

Visit NOAA’s National Marine Sanctuaries website about Wisconsin’s Shipwreck Coast.
