Northside Water System Improvements
The Water Utility is preparing for the upcoming five-year DNR inspection of the North Side Reservoir located at 3900 Bellevue Street. As part of the inspection process, the 2-million gallon reservoir will be drained and taken offline. Once emptied, the reservoir will be inspected, cleaned, chlorinated, and returned to service. The entire process is expected to take approximately 10 days.
During this time, a contractor will also address the existing non-compliance issue related to the current overflow pipe configuration. This correction will involve installing a new overflow pipe on the west side of the reservoir. Work on the new concrete overflow pad is scheduled to begin Wednesday, March 11. This portion of the project must be completed before draining the reservoir and taking it offline. The reservoir is tentatively scheduled to be drained and inspected during the last week of March or the first week of April, weather permitting.
