S.S. Badger's First Sail of the Season Celebration
Welcome back the S.S. Badger as she initiates her 72nd sailing season. The celebration includes an appearance by LondonDairy Alpacas.
The Badger arrives in Manitowoc at noon, and departs for her return voyage to Ludington, Michigan at 2 p.m.
Her daily crossings offer riders a unique and memorable four-hour journey across the 60-mile shortcut passage on Lake Michigan.
Lake Michigan Carferry operates the S.S. Badger, the largest cross-lake passenger and car ferry service on the Lakes. Designated a National Historic Landmark, the Badger is a key part of US10 highway connecting the two cities. A vital link across Lake Michigan, the Badger can accommodate 600 passengers and 180 vehicles, including RVs, motorcycles, motorcoaches, and commercial trucks and oversized loads in a single trip.
