An East German doctor is banished to a small country hospital after she tries to escape to West Germany during the 1980s. Isolated from her former life and placed under constant surveillance, Barbara remains determined to find a way out. As she settles into her new position, however, she begins to form unexpected connections with her patients and colleagues. Rated PG-13. Runtime 1:45.
